KS Commentary On Revelation 4:6-11

Revelation 4:6-11 WEB

Before the throne was something like a sea of glass, similar to crystal. In the middle of the throne, and around the throne were four living creatures full of eyes before and behind. [7] The first creature was like a lion, the second creature like a calf, the third creature had a face like a man, and the fourth was like a flying eagle. [8] The four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes around and within. They have no rest day and night, saying, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come!” [9] When the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to him who sits on the throne, to him who lives forever and ever, [10] the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever, and throw their crowns before the throne, saying, [11] “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, the Holy One, to receive the glory, the honor, and the power, for you created all things, and because of your desire they existed and were created!”

Commentary:

* Four living creatures = four human representatives

These are the four representatives of men before God, four heads are the different characters of men in this world. These all kinds of people God created to live together to test them, as four living creatures live together. Men have to live together, among good and bad people, men must have to walk together in this world and there is no choice.

Ezekiel 1:10-12 KJV
As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle. [11] Thus were their faces: and their wings were stretched upward; two wings of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies. [12] And they went every one straight forward: whither the spirit was to go, they went; and they turned not when they went.

* Four faces of four living creatures

1. Like a lion (God’s people)
2. Like a calf (these people are without wisdom)
3. Like a man = (these people knew good and evil and seem to be wise but they are not)
4. Like a flying eagle (proudly people who want to flying above all)

* Four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back

These are the God’s eyes who are on every man to keep watch whatever he does.
